Negombo 1 night → Sigiriya 3 → Galle or Mirissa 4 → Negombo 1. This original route leaves out the hill country so ten days can include proper time at each main stop.

Days 1–4: arrive, then settle into Sigiriya
Confirm the first room night and pickup before flying. On day 2, travel inland and leave the afternoon flexible. Use day 3 for the main Sigiriya visit after checking current access and tickets.
Keep day 4 for another cultural outing or a slower day. A three-night stay gives you room to move the main visit if weather or tiredness makes that sensible. Use the Sigiriya guide to choose a practical base.
Days 5–8: one coastal base
Day 5 is a substantial road-transfer day. Get a current door-to-door estimate and arrange breaks; do not add a prepaid excursion at the end. If the journey is unsuitable for your group, simplify the route or use a closer coastal alternative after reviewing the whole plan.
Choose Galle for a stay centred on the fort and town, or Mirissa for a beach-led plan. Keep one of the next three days open and select activities from current weather and sea conditions.
Days 9–10: leave space for the flight
Return toward Negombo on day 9. Reconfirm the airport pickup and keep the evening for packing and a relaxed meal. On day 10, follow the airline’s airport-arrival guidance and your provider’s current road estimate.

An east-coast version
If the east coast suits your travel month, replace the four south-coast nights with Trincomalee. Reprice both long transfers and preserve the final airport-area night. This is a substitution, not an extra stop.
